Product Safety & Care Guide

Last Updated: 31 May 2026

At Modulus Autocare, our entire formulation philosophy is built on delivering the best of both worlds. We refuse to force you into a corner where you have to choose between raw, punishing chemical strength and absolute vehicle safety. Instead, we engineer two distinct high-performance pathways to match your exact detailing needs:

  • The Heavy-Duty Trade Engine: For the toughest jobs—think thick road filth, commercial grime, and caked-on wheel dust—we formulate heavy-duty, trade-strength alkaline products. These are engineered to deliver maximum chemical energy, biting through contamination instantly to do the hard work so you don’t have to scrub. They are intense, uncompromising, and built for ultimate speed and power.

  • The Super-Safe “Sugar” Alternatives: On the other side, we develop advanced, innovative formulations built on super-safe, bio-derived sugar surfactants (like alkyl polyglucosides). These are the pinnacle of safe chemical engineering—completely non-hazardous, incredibly gentle on delicate clear coats, premium waxes, and sensitive trims.

⚖️ The Honest Truth About Performance

Because we put chemicals and customer service first, we will always give it to you straight: choosing the ultra-safe route can sometimes come with a minor performance compromise—but not always.

  • The Reality: A bio-sugar surfactant might require a slightly longer dwell time or a touch more mechanical agitation to shift heavy grease compared to an aggressive, trade-alkaline chemical blast.

  • The Modulus Difference: We work tirelessly in the lab to bridge that gap. Through smart chemical synergy, many of our safe products match the cleaning power of their aggressive trade rivals step-for-step, giving you premium safety without dropping the performance.

Whether you need an aggressive trade-strength heavy hitter or an ultra-safe, chemically sophisticated clean, Modulus has the exact tool for the job. To ensure you get the best results from either side of our range, please read our core usage guidelines below.

1. Golden Rules for Chemical Application

To achieve a flawless, damage-free finish every single time, always follow these four standard detailing practices:

  • Always Spot-Test First: Before applying any chemical to a highly visible panel, always perform a quick spot-test on a small, inconspicuous area (such as the lower part of a door sill or an unexposed piece of trim). This ensures complete compatibility with your specific vehicle substrate, aftermarket coatings, or paint type.

  • Keep Out of Direct Sunlight: Never apply chemical formulations—especially heavy-duty cleaners, iron fallouts, or tar removers—on panels that are hot to the touch or baking in direct sunlight. High surface temperatures cause solvents and water-based elements to evaporate too quickly, which can lead to chemical etching or stubborn water spotting.

  • Follow Dilution Ratios Exactly: Our products are highly concentrated to give you maximum value and power. Sweeter or stronger is not always better. Always dilute our products using the precise ratios printed on the product labels.

  • Never Let Products Dry on the Paint: While we formulate items like our high-dwell tar removers to stay wet on the panel for extended periods, you should never allow any chemical product to completely dry out on your paintwork, glass, or plastic trim.

2. Personal Protection & Safe Handling

Because our formulations are engineered to aggressively bite into road grime, brake dust, and bitumen, they must be treated with respect.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): We highly recommend wearing appropriate PPE, including protective gloves and eye protection, when handling concentrated chemicals or spraying products during the wash cycle.

  • Ventilation: Always use our products in a well-ventilated outdoor environment or a spacious, open detailing bay. Avoid breathing in atomized spray mist.

  • Storage Safely: Store all Modulus Autocare products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme frost, and open flames. Ensure all caps are screwed on tightly and keep products completely out of reach of children and pets.

3. Surface-Specific Warnings

Modern vehicles feature an incredibly diverse array of sensitive materials. Please take extra care under the following conditions:

  • Anodized Aluminium & Chrome: Bare or anodized metal trims can react poorly to aggressive chemicals if left to dwell too long. Reduce your dwell times and rinse thoroughly.

  • Smart Repairs & Degraded Clear Coats: If your vehicle has undergone cheap smart repairs, has single-stage paint, or suffers from UV clear-coat failure (peeling), trade-strength chemicals can compromise these vulnerable areas. Proceed with extreme caution and test a hidden spot first.

  • Matte Finishes & Vinyl Wraps: Matte paint and vinyl wraps require specialized care. Do not use heavy solvent-based products or aggressive mechanical agitation on these delicate surfaces unless explicitly stated on the product label.

4. Limitation of Liability
