Refund and Returns Policy

This website is operated by Modulus Group Limited trading as Modulus Autocare. Our returns policy is fully compliant with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

1. The 14-Day Cooling-Off Period (Right to Cancel)

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have a statutory right to change your mind and cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your items.

  • To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us of your decision by emailing lab@modulus-lab.co.uk with your order number and request.

  • Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods back to us.

2. Chemical Product Safeguards & Exceptions

Because our product lineup consists of high-performance automotive chemicals, we must enforce strict health, safety, and quality control restrictions regarding what can be returned.

  • Opened or Used Products: For safety, hygiene, and batch-contamination reasons, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds for any liquid chemical products if the tamper-evident cap, foil seal, or bottle closure has been broken or opened.

  • Condition of Items: To qualify for a full refund under a change-of-mind cancellation, items must be returned completely unused, in their original retail packaging, and in a perfectly resalable condition.

3. Damaged, Faulty, or Leaking Shipments

We use heavy-duty packaging to ensure our products survive transit, but we know things can happen en route. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or leaking, we will put it right immediately.

  • Reporting Timeframe: Please inspect your delivery immediately upon arrival. You must report any transit damage or leaking bottles to us within 48 hours of delivery.

  • What We Need: Email lab@modulus-lab.co.uk with your order number and include clear photographs of the damage, the leaking bottle, or the affected packaging.

  • Resolution: Once verified, we will arrange for a replacement bottle to be shipped out to you immediately at no extra cost, or issue a full refund for the affected item.

4. Return Shipping Costs

  • Change of Mind: If you are returning items because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for paying the return postage costs. We highly recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot issue a refund if the return shipment is lost or damaged in transit back to us.

  • Faulty or Damaged Items: If an item is faulty, incorrect, or arrived damaged, we will cover the return shipping costs by providing a pre-paid shipping label or arranging a courier collection.

5. How Refunds Are Processed

Once your return is received and inspected by our lab team, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and confirm whether the refund has been approved or rejected based on the condition of the seals.

  • Currency: All refunds are issued in GBP (£).

  • Method: Approved refunds will be automatically applied to your original method of payment (e.g., your bank card or PayPal account).

  • Timeframe: Please note it can take 3 to 5 working days for your bank or card issuer to process and post the refund to your account after we initiate it.
